Our integrated approach operates along three synergistic dimensions to provide Web-centric solutions:

  • Analysis: Making use of both industry standard and proprietary tools, we can provide in-depth looks at data -- and evaluate ideas -- for websites, surveys and decision models. Our focus on visualization gets the information to you in an understandable form -- so you can make informed decisions.
  • Implementation: Our recommendations are always specific and actionable -- our tools and processes are designed to that end. While many of our clients work primarily with in-house resources or external agencies, we can provide all aspects of implementation, from copy writing/graphics design to complex coding.
  • R&D: We have (and are always seeking more) active partnerships in research on web-centric issues. Currently visible is our Processed Book partnership. Other efforts include new forms of online surveys, dynamically generated/optimized sites and dynamic Search Engine Optimization techniques.
 
 
SmartSell: Site Performance Optimization
SmartSell is a set of tools - and an integrated process - for (re) designing measurably more effective websites. The tools and process leverage both the "best practices" over many Fortune 1000 clients, and the plethora of data gathered by web servers, advertising technologies, etc. We have now refined and systemized these tools and processes and named them SmartSell.

SmartSell's main focus is on providing an objective basis for design improvements: it provides both analytical/visualization components, that identify problem areas, and evaluation components that can evaluate proposed solutions.

SmartSell's power derives from using models for both the analysis of web sites content and of many users’ interactions with the site (via site logs, etc.). By using models of how the user makes a purchase decision, we can translate raw data back to visualized sales-meaningful terms, and then use sales-focused techniques to drive a synthesis of changes to improve your site.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization
Most of our techniques are the standard ones noted below. We generally avoid any questionable techniques, such as link exchanges/purchases or ones which compromise the sales effectiveness of the site.

We also use proprietary techniques for visualization of site log and advertising (AdWord/Adsense) data, and for optimizing the mix of keywords when constrained by sales effectiveness.

Our process and techniques include:

  • Understand client goals and use of the web site, both in client and customer terms, resulting in a visual model of the use and decision processes presented to the client.
  • Analyze the web site on the basis of the use/decision models, looking for dissonance that could guide improvement. An evaluation of the sites, and any detected problems/opportunities are reported to the client.
  • Analyze web site logs/advertising logs/customer surveys to validate the model -- and substantiate any dissonance.
  • Synthesize, with the client, prioritized changes and estimate their cost, risks and impact on goals.
  • At least: monitor and advise on the implementation; at most: do the complete implementation.
  • Monitor the results, and compare against estimates, and recommend a strategy for any future improvement.
