Topic Name which should be something that describes the Topic and your use of it. It has no effect on what's actually retrieved.
Required Keywords are words where at least one of them must be present in the Item for it to be included.
This aggressive filtering technique is useful because most queries on the Net retrieve too many Items.
Desired Keywords helps set the importance — and the order — of the retrieved Items, but are not required for an Item to be included.
Note that for both fields, you should list the words in their order of importance, since earlier words get more weight in the ranking of Items.
Display Order controls the order in which Topics are displayed on the Topic Summary page, from Top to Bottom. Within each Display Order value, Topics are sorted by Topic Name.

VizVantage controls if and where the VizVantage graphs are displayed.
Viz Matrix allows you to map an Item attribute chosen from the first column to a visual attribute chosen by clicking on the appropriate radio button in one of the other vertical columns. For example, to map Relevance to Color, click on the 3rd button over from Relevance.

• Horiz, Vert maps the plotted icon to the horizontal and vertical coordinates,
• Color maps to the icon color,
• Number makes the icon's character be the nearest digit to the value,
• Size changes the size of the icon.

• Relevance, is BizVantage's idea of the Item's relevance to the Topic, based upon the keyword occurring in the Item, considering both the order you indicated for keywords and their frequency in the Item.
• Length is related to the number of words in the Item.
• Age is how recent the Item is.
• Business, Technology and Military/Conflict is how specialized/focused BizVantage consider the source of the Item to be on that subject.
• Objectivity is how objective BizVantage considers the source to be.
• World Map is the geographic location of the source.

Viz Quick Select sets some common combinations of attribute mappings; you can click on each Item to see what it's exact mappings are.

Assuming you've now set up all your initially Topics, let's go to a very quick overview of the Bizvantage notebook:
